Mt Isa to Mataranka

April 9:Mt Isa Repaired caravan crack in axle
April 10:Mt Isa - free camp 40 kms out of Barkly Homestead, storms @ night.round 10pm we had avisit from 4 young dutch backpackers-they had run out of fuel! We only had diesel but made them a cuppa & told them the story of Peter Falconio ? (not sure of spelling) they were not impressed as around the same area is where he went missing.Anyway they got fuel in the morning but then had a flat battery as they had used the airconditioning during the night!!!! OMG I hope they make it out of Oz alive
April 11: to Tennant Creek Lots of aboriginals, strict alcohol restrictions no alcohol after8pm & you have to show licence & only allowed to buy a limited amount Drive around 100kms out to the Devils Marbles in the rain, gorgeous spot feels really still & peaceful, an interesting aboriginal story - they believe that little people live amongst the stones & they whisper to you ,then you disappear in the stones We wantedto stay here at the campsite but we had crossed through water coming out & water still was rising, we were talking to a guide that has worked there this area for 7 years & had never seen it rain there!!
April 12:Tennant Creek to Banka Banka- lovely camp ground,no power but grassy space to camp,we walked all over the rocky hill & then another 2km (felt like 10) to a gorgeous waterhole.Visit the famous Daly Waters Pub...Wow what an experience walls are covered with memorabilia of many people all over the world
