Friday 9th July
We went & had coffee(no bean rating for coffee or service) at The Butterfly Farm in Batchelor and met Anna an artist, who was another Helpx host who we could have stayed with, she is an artist and was arranging a showing at the Butterfly Farm...anyway we ended up having a great night with her her husband Ricky & their son Rawidy
She had painted a mural that day with the local school children as part of a holiday program,I helped her finish it on Saturday,we worked on it all day....I had so much fun painting ,especially when Rawidy was 'helping' with a huge big house painting brush and painted all through the middle with dark green paint when we had almost finished
We also met a great German fellow Werner...he made us all gorgeous homemade pizza ....yum yum he was a real character & a wonderful host

The House

Really enjoyed staying in a real house ,cooking in a real kitchen...making cakes, having a bath, with an awesome view OOOhhh the luxury....
The house is about 2 years old constructed by 2 complete 'dongas' moved in with a breeze way /deck in between to connect them

Batchelor Home stay

We arrived in Batchelor about 100km south of Darwin on 5th July for our first home stay through Helpx,it turned out to be a fantastic experience
We had a whole house to ourselves about 10 kms out of town in Eva Valley, only 2 years old on 40 acres
We had to clean the house,it was filthy, so a big job & then did some little odd jobs around the 'farm' for Doug & Colleen (our hosts ...lovely people who have lived in Batchelor for 11 years or so) sold some mangoes for Doug in the caravan parks as he has fallen of a horse & broken up his body & not at all in a good way
We had a wonderful time

Last day in Darwin

Sunday 4th July
We are all packed up & ready to go,leave for Litchfield NP tomorrow,we have a home-stay to go to on 40 acres, 10 mins fom the National Park.In exchange we have to move some rocks for a rock wall/path ,shovel some gravel & some cleaning....Shane is a bit worried as in "How much gravel???????????"I am so excited, I can't wait to move on.
We have had heaps of offers to stay all around Australia with the Helpx exchange program so that gives us more wonderful choices
I have had heaps of massage in the park & they are not happy I am leaving....Shane has also been asked to stay on! But no way...we are moving on
