Onslow is a little fishing village a little like Tin Can Bay ,there is not much here at all,no cafe for my coffee fixes Ahhhhh coffee....
We came in here to avoid the school holidays,I have been doing some masssage & waxing & Shane went to work today as a trades assistant for an electrician here in town .There is not much to do here,it is quite hot & there are alot of sandflies! But on the upside ...we have met some lovely people ,Mel & Kay, who we met in Broome are also here so we have loved their friendship & company, lots of laughs, stories, yummy food & wines(a little way too much on Saturday night when I ended up at a fire on the beach with some local girls & guys & didn't get home until the early hours of the morning ahhhhhh),I went to a cooking class in the community garden in town -asian food with local chef from" Nickys" ,Charlie, which was fun & I have also seen whales. There is also a salt mine here which employs a lot of the town,BHP is also coming to town which the local community have mixed feelings about. There is a strong sense of community in the town, there are obviously some passionate & driven people that have helped create amazing things in the town, the Community Garden for example is fantastic,a huge vegetable & herb garden with stainless steel benches, sinks ,fridge, running water & a wonderful wood-fired oven,it is just brilliant!A real credit to all those involved!
